When you tell people
who you are
sometimes you’ll be
tested
Are you really who you say
some want to see
if you’ll fail
like them
we don’t have to do that
to one another
All we have to do
is lift each other up
because
as we lift
one another
we both RISE

This is a basic human flaw to pull each other down or wish to see them fail also. Such a pity more don’t understand the real way, the most effective way that is essentially so easy. And like you said we can both rise! 😀
I like this poem very much Kai! 🙂 I’m wondering if it would be okay to publish this in (The Writing Garden) a literary magazine I created recently? I’m sure the readers would identify with what you are saying here. I’m about to publish the second issue in a few days and I’m now putting together issue three. It’s a free magazine to help promote writers and spoken word artists from wherever I find them. It’s predominantly poetry but also includes short stories and essays.
I found you while looking up quotes on ‘seeds’ and discovered your quote on Goodreads. Would it be okay to publish your quote in the same issue too?
Here’s a link to the first issue of the magazine so you can check it out. https://thewritinggarden.wordpress.com/2015/01/08/the-writing-garden-issue-one/ I also give social media links, so I can link to your blog/facebook/twitter/amazon pages under your work if you’d like me to?
Thanks for your inspirational poem, I’ll look forward to hearing from you. But of course if you’d rather not, then don’t hesitate to say no, I really won’t mind.
Suzy 🙂
