The AstroNomad Begins: Why Travel Became My First Love

Not all journeys begin with a passport stamp. Some begin with a broken heart, a packed suitcase, and a desperate need for peace.

I’m a Scorpio, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned about myself, it’s that transformation is not an occasional visitor in my life. It is a permanent resident.

Throughout my life, I’ve experienced seasons that required me to become someone new. Sometimes those transitions arrived gently. Other times they crashed into my life without warning. Breakups. Financial hardship. Homelessness. Unexpected endings. Reinventions. Each chapter asked me to shed a version of myself so that another could emerge.

Long before there was luxury travel, ocean-view suites, or curated experiences, there were motels.

Yes, motels.

Some barely earned two stars. Some were places most people would never consider destinations. But they served a sacred purpose. They became temporary sanctuaries during some of the most uncertain periods of my life. They held space for me when I needed distance from pain, clarity from confusion, and room to hear my own thoughts.

Looking back, I realize those rooms were never really about where I was staying.

They were about who I was becoming.

Travel became my cocoon.

Like a butterfly disappearing into stillness before emerging with wings, I often found myself retreating into unfamiliar places while preparing for my next chapter. At other times, the experience felt more like the growth of a snake. Before growth can happen, the old skin must be shed. It’s uncomfortable. Vulnerable. Necessary.

Those hotel rooms became witnesses to both.

They held my tears, my prayers, my journal entries, my plans, and my dreams.

In the beginning, it was simple.

A suitcase.

A notebook.

A pen.

And sometimes a bottle of wine.

I would disappear for a weekend to collect myself, process what life was teaching me, and map out what came next. The destination was never as important as the space it provided.

Today, the ritual looks different.

The notebook has become notes in my phone. The pen has been replaced by cameras, videos, and photographs. The motel rooms have evolved into beautiful hotels and immersive experiences.

But the purpose remains the same.

To listen.

To reflect.

To reset.

To grow.

Every trip leaves something behind and brings something back. A new perspective. A deeper understanding of myself. A memory that becomes wisdom. A lesson disguised as an experience.

Travel has never simply been about movement for me.

It’s been about transformation.

It has taught me that sometimes the fastest way forward is to step away. To leave familiar surroundings. To become a stranger in a new place long enough to remember who you are.

If you’ve spent any time around me, you’ve probably heard me talk about astrology, self-awareness, and personal evolution. Travel sits at the intersection of all three.

It is one of the purest forms of self-discovery I’ve ever encountered.

Every city has a frequency.

Every hotel has a personality.

Every restaurant tells a story.

Every photograph captures a moment that will never exist again.

And every journey offers an opportunity to meet a different version of yourself.

That is the heart of The AstroNomad.

This blog isn’t just about destinations.

It’s about what those destinations awaken within us.

It’s about intentional travel, meaningful experiences, beautiful hotels, memorable restaurants, photography, and the self-awareness that emerges when we allow ourselves to explore both the world and our inner landscape.

In many ways, travel saved me.

Not because it solved my problems.

But because it gave me space to understand them.

It reminded me that every ending is also a beginning.

That every transformation requires a period of uncertainty.

And that sometimes the road to becoming who you’re meant to be begins with simply checking into a room somewhere far enough away to hear your own soul again.

So welcome to the journey.

Welcome to the stories.

Welcome to the lessons hidden inside airports, hotel lobbies, winding roads, city skylines, ocean views, and unexpected conversations.

Welcome to The AstroNomad.
