The InkMann Press–Self Love & Self Growth

The InkMann Press Series- Self Love & Self Growth

Recently I had someone ask me what my 2016 mission was and I was happy to say that my Life’s mission has not changed. Self-love and Self-growth have been the glue holding me together for most of my life. Even at a young age I had an appreciation for self development and understood that I had to be an advocate for my own growth. My goal has been to learn, grow, expand and excel on every level. Although I’d have to admit that I am not a traditionalist I am learned by way of spirit; A lifelong student of sorts but at the same time, a teacher. In learning to love myself, I have learned new ways to love others.  Often times I’m encouraged to share pieces of my experiences as the way that I see things sometimes can be different.  It’s funny because I thought we all think different since we all come from different perspectives. Anyway, in retrospect I decided to share, and thus the InkMann Press Series was created.

In the beginning I found myself on a quest to transcend any previous images that I had for myself. I wanted to write about how I challenged the innermost parts of me to go beyond the superficialities of life into something deeper. In previous blog posts I wrote with references to mastering yourself, learning from your lessons, letting go of ego, and forgiveness. I chose to write on these areas because they can all effect positive change. Letting go of old and outdated thinking patterns gives way to new tools that we can use to heal and to forgive ourselves. I realize that the moment we learn who we are and what we can do, we are able to increase and expand our potential.

Writing has been my passion since I was about twelve years old. It has been the way that I have communicated with life. My bond to writing comes from a need to release, and sometimes purge. In either case, my hope is that my writing will either water or plant a seed to inspire growth and change in the heart of one who needs it most.

Writing is an intimate gift. It is the formation of letters to make words that bring a connection between it and the reader. It’s a transformation of energies to bring a specific level of understanding.  My intention with The InkMann Press Series has been to inspire and motivate others to cultivate their own self awareness, self love, and self growth.  Remember, like minds, light minds.

If you have been inspired to pursue your passion, forgive, let go, move forward, or anything of the sort you know that it takes work. Being willing alone is not enough. There are many who will say “its grind time” but never end up grinding because grinding is synonymous with work. Work that they never anticipated doing. And because work implies tasks, jobs, duties, assignments, and projects they forgo the effort. For those of you who tackle the work relentlessly to work on yourself to improve your way of life, kudos to you.  Your strength is impeccable. It is only the minds of strong people who are willing to hold themselves accountable, stay the course, and do the work. It is you who truly understands that to be great you must be strong, and that strength never comes from the outside it comes from within.

Thank you for coming over to the Kai Mann blog to read the InkMann Press Series. May you be strong in all that you do so that you will inevitably increase your potential at every level. Now, go be GREAT!

Jon BradburyHello, my name is Jon Bradbury and I wrote the story Jump for the Forbidden Future Anthology.

Writing is not as easy as it sounds. Think about your life. Think about all the million and one distractions zipping through your busy little mind right now.

Drives you a little bit crazy, doesn’t it?

Now, imagine, just for a moment, having to dampen down all those distractions. To write. A story. A novel. A fictional story where everyone and everything isn’t real, doesn’t exist, or is used in a fictional manner.

Sounds hard, doesn’t it?

Writing a blog is hard enough. Writing a quick status update on Facebook or a tweet on Twitter is a little bit easier. But to write a book, a whole story, to quiet down all that mental chatter for just one moment, so you can concentrate, is nearly impossible.

So that is why writers need to have a place where they can drown out the rest of the world, if only for a little while, and write.

A private space, devoid of any distractions, helps. Listening to music helps me a lot. If I’m really having trouble focusing, a meditation recording of some kind helps even more.

If solitude is too much to ask for, a time of day when you can at least work without interruptions is the next step. Have a comfortable chair to sit it. Wear your favorite old t-shirt or sweats. Have the room as cool or as warm as you prefer.

While writing, JUST WRITE. Don’t answer emails, and for Pete’s sake, DON’T go on any of the social media sites. Don’t tell yourself, “Oh, just a few minutes won’t hurt.”

You know as well as I do that “a few minutes” will turn into an hour and before you know it, you’ve wasted all that time you should have spent writing.

Don’t pay bills, don’t shop, just write. I know, sometimes it’s difficult to concentrate, but you’re here to write.

Having an operational computer helps, one that is at least free of malfunctions of hardware malfunctions or software glitches, regardless of make, model and installed software. Doesn’t matter if its the latest and greatest or if it’s on its last microchip, a computer is essential to writing in the digital age, as is reliable internet access.

Yep, writing is so easy.

Think about that next time you decide to post a one star review or post how much you think an author sucks.

I’m Ready

The Heat

I’m ready

I wasn’t sure that I’d get here

I wasn’t sure because I thought I was further away than I was.

Seeking the Universe because I know it’s on my side

It’s trying to help me

It holds my heart close

It keeps me moving forward

Sometimes the steps are slow

but I’m coming.

Shoot! I know that I’m not the only one because what he put in me, he put in you…

Don’t Take Too Long

If you’re going to do it

Don’t take too long

Getting it together or trying

Cause

The longer you do,,

The less time

You have to enjoy yourselfDSCN1946.

I mean “Really enjoy it”

Whatever it is

Try to do it better

If not better, different

just a little bit at a time

You don’t have to do it

All at once

Just a little bit at a time

And once you get that

You try to do something else

better

A Time

Do What Makes You Happy

KaismThere has to come a time in your life where you just do what makes you happy. Surely, you can get to do that. I finally have decided that I’m going to do just that.

Not trying to hurt anyone else but I just want to do what I want without condemnation or guilt. And I won’t. I won’t look for or seek those feelings out.

There has to come a time in your life where you don’t care what anyone else has to say. You don’t hurt nobody and you don’t want nobody hurting you; so you do what you want to do, because time, is short.

Sometimes we fool ourselves to say that we ain’t supposed to do what we want. We not supposed to be happy. Everybody else is but not us. I won’t play martyr. I don’t know how much time I’ve got left. I’m going to do what I want to do and not feel guilty about it. Not no more.

I feel free to love me and do some things that will allow me to be my most authentic self. That’s what I want in-spite of anything. Whatever anything is.

I don’t want to even hear what others think. If I choose to wear white pants in the middle of winter I’m going to do it because you’re not guaranteed to be here next summer. I’m going to wear what I want, when I want. I don’t want to hear anybody say nothing negative. I’m not looking for it. I don’t care to hear it, because I don’t care about it. I just want to live.

I just want to live and be happy. I want to write, feel free to love me, to find me, so that if and when I can be my best me, for you.

If you want to come along that would be even better; but if not, that’s up to you….I’ll see you!
