JoVonna Williams- Conversations With Kai Mann

JoVonna Williams, a mother of three children whose life took a drastic turn at the early age of 29 years old when she was diagnosed with a Rare Auto Immune Condition “Eosinophilic Myenteric Ganglionitis” after undergoing surgery at Cleveland Clinic. She is the Fourth Person in the world to be diagnosed with this condition. Due to the severity of her chronic disease her work career was cut short and she is now on full disability.

JoVonna learned a long time ago that everything that looks bad isn’t always the case. She is currently working on her first book where she will tell her story and share a Testimony that many people won’t understand.

Inspite of JoVonna’s condition she tries to focus her passion on encouraging and helping others. She believes that it is important to give others a since of hope especially when they feel that no one cares about them. Sometimes a kind word and a listening ear can go a long way so she shares and give light along the way to those who need it. She says that God has given her a Gift of Compassion and she uses it to change lives one smile at a time.

Healing From The Past- Part 3

As I move deeper into this journey my passion to seek a higher me has escalated to deepening and widening my search. I have been meditating more, reading the Bible as well as different books , listening to YouTube videos on the law of attraction (Abraham-Hicks), and watching Documentaries about spirituality. I am determined to find a way to tap more into the inner me so that I may begin to live from a point of abundance. This is my nature and has always been a part of my life in some way, shape, or form. I am a seeker of self, and always willing to go higher, but this time it’s different.

There are 4 more days until my birthday and usually during this season I am contemplative as a practice. But what I have come to understand is that this contemplative state that I have been pursuing has been going on now for about five years. The need to find a deeper meaning to who I am, my purpose and how to move into the next dimension of my life has me on a journey of miraculous growth and evolution. I’ve sat in thought and mulled over these past couple of years and asked myself “When do you think that you started this transition” only because I was thinking the process was taking too long. It is, but it is okay. You see, in past times I have been able to get the lessons quicker but now it takes more time than usual to get to the root of who I am, helping me to bring out the core. If I could soak my soul into the very lessons that I am learning and have it to become sheer manifestation I would but it will take more than that. If my intentions became like air that one breathes without thought I will have tamed and mastered the beast that is me.

I have come to believe that the lessons are different this time because this is not a transition or move from one level to the next, this feels as if I am moving from one dimension to the next. My emotions are fluctuating in as much as I feel like I’m winning one day and maybe feeling the uncertainty that can make you feel overwhelmed the next. Having feelings that can make one seem immature or even lost at times can break open your spirit. We think that we know ourselves but who we are changes, grows, and evolves as we move through different terrain. Never having gone this way before there seems to be no real GPS except to say, “Now go this way” at the exact point of the turn. Who I have believed myself to be has been challenged to the point of asking “Who am I now”.  Currently when I look in the mirror I see a different me spiritually, mentally, and physically. I’m not willing to turn back though. I find the courage with each step to keep moving forward feeling like I am walking in the wilderness. The forest is thick with barely enough light, but I know it is coming soon so I keep moving. I am determined to let go and shed my old self but honestly, the emotionality of it all is vast. Holding up mirrors to oneself and having the courage to not look away as you discover the truths to the past and your now experience makes you long for the future. However, I am learning to love the contrast that is before me even though at times it can be painful. Soul opening to be exact, but I recognize the reasons for its nature to insist that I evolve. Growing pains aint’ got nothing on this but I’d wouldn’t change any of it for I know when it is over I will be “new”.

Q & A–The Eyeology INC Way

13561833_271548746541272_154350629_n(1)Q. You talked about the ideal client for your company being “coachable”. Can you explain that a little more in-depth for me.

A. Yes. If you ask most of us if we’re ready to move to the next level or dimension, our immediate response is ‘yes’. Most of us believe that we’re ready of course; but when you are working with a coach and she begins to tap into some of our immature spaces how ready we are will reveal itself instantaneously. Everyone has some immature spaces: spaces that haven’t been developed yet. But someone who is “coachable’ says “I realize my under-developed areas, I will acknowledge them, and will work on them instead of challenging the person coaching them. “Coachable” individuals are willing to look in the mirror, stare if necessary (no matter how hard it is), and say to the coach “Okay, show me how to work on these areas so I can become stronger and use these areas to my advantage.” Sometimes individuals seem to be coachable in the beginning but the deeper rooted the under-developed area is the harder they fight against changing it and that’s when you find it harder to work with them because they will usually give up before their break-through. Some of us would rather give an excuse for why that area is weak instead of work to fix it or will make their sessions a financial issue so as to have an excuse why they can’t work on them. Someone who is coachable is willing to lay themselves open, bare if they must, in order to move to the next level. They will find a way to continue their services because they realize that the reward is bigger than the sacrifice. It comes down to how bad you want it.

13649390_1620298304927907_2066188281_nQ. Why would someone need a Coach or Strategist?
A. The benefits of having a Life Coach or Strategist is the difference between probability and certainty. They help you in life, business, and even branding if you have one. As a life coach they work to strengthen your under-developed areas. A Life Coach will assist you in deciding life paths, and will help you to create a life plan as well as a financial one if needed. As a business Coach they assist you in goal setting, business decisions, creating a business model, and framework for your business as well as infrastructure. A Brand Strategist will give you a blend of life, imagery, and projectory to develop structure and build your brand, and to establish your brand personality while helping you to construct networking strategies, concepts, and ideas. Strategy is necessary to produce desired experiences and results. A phenomenal strategist will flow between all three; life, business, and brand to actualize maximum results. So, anyone wanting to be better, do better, and have more would want a life, business, or brand strategist on their team; Someone to talk to and help you to execute thoughts and ideas. Our (Eyeology INC) Strategist continually seeks new information regarding ‘all’ matters so that she can advise you properly.

13627964_711015695702821_497374204_nQ. How long should it take to gain followers or likes?

A. With the exception of being famous or a celebrity; organically it should take you awhile to get followers and ultimately consistent likes unless you buy them and then you can have as many as you like as quick as you like. But, just like any great relationship it takes time to build. Do your due diligence to create your tribe of loyal followers and you’ll obtain the likes by being authentically you. Create awesome content that reflects who you are and what you’re about and you’ll draw others interested in the same expressions to you.

13740926_1849137545315009_20880901_nQ. I am looking for a certain type of client and I don’t want to offend anyone who is not that type of client. How do I attract the type of client that I am looking for?

A. First, be sure that your product or service can sustain that type of client and then go where that client is. Be specific. If you’re looking for high-end (exclusive) clients then know where they shop, what they buy, down to what they look like and go where they are. There is nothing to be ashamed of when asking for what you know you’re worth or the type of client who knows the value of your product or service. (And there is nothing wrong with not wanting to beg for what someone owes you either.) Place yourself in spaces where those clients live and breathe. Also, it doesn’t hurt to know others in your field that may serve a wider range of clients that can help that person or brand. This way the client can still get what they need (just not from you), but you will have added value to them by giving them the name of someone who would be able to do the service for them at a lower rate. Always add value to everyone you come in contact with whether you can help them or not.

13658433_1556885007951769_1424179749_nQ. I always support other people but they don’t support me. How do I get others to support me?
A. Find your tribe. Just because you support others you cannot expect them to support you. If you write books about serials killers, murders, erotica, and insatiable acts and all the people in your circle are Christians is it fair to ask them to support what you write when you know they don’t agree with it? Find your tribe. Find people who like what you like, do what you do, and can relate to what you write. If your friends only post inspirational and motivational quotes and pictures and you post Memes that degrade women or totally contradicts what they post you can’t really expect them to go against their authentic nature. Again, find people who post the same as you, you’re more likely to get the support you’re looking for.

photo (1)What is your writing process?

I primarily write as the narrator or observer. That way I see all and know all and can analyze the thoughts and emotions of my characters.  I probably developed this style of writing as a result of listening to the oral stories told by my elders as they sat shuckin’ and jivin’ on the front porch or gossiping around the kitchen table.  I started writing as a child in a little pink diary that had a lock and key. Over the years I graduated to legal pads and pencils, typewriters, word processors, PC’s and the iPad.  I love to write in the early morning before the sun comes up.  The spirits are busy at that time and they whisper in my ear as the refrigerator hums in the background.  I love writing in silence, on any writable surface but I can also take myself away in a crowded room if a character is insistent on making an entrance.  Sometimes it starts with one word, a sentence or If I’m lucky an entire paragraph.  I love developing characters.  Some I find on the city streets, in my classroom, in the church and in my dreams.   I admit I’m not disciplined in terms of writing every day.  However, when I do decide to tell a story I allow my soul to open up and I ask the Spirit to guide my thoughts and emotions to deliver a positive message.  I do agree with the writer E.B. White who said “A writer who waits for ideal conditions under which to work will die without putting a word on paper.”

A Young Man’s Advice

I told my friends, “My girl’s pregnant – looks like I’m gonna be a father.”

Pookie shook his head and said, “You still with her; why bother?”

The fellas all joined Pookie with laughter and derision.

I softly spoke, “This ain’t  no joke. I’ve come to my decision.

I’m the oldest on this block, so let me put in my two cents.”

The fellas sat in silence, but the atmosphere was tense.

I waited for a moment…my head was tilted skyward.

“First of all, my brothers-I promised-I gave my word.

I said ‘Baby, stick with me. My life is in reversal’

She said, ‘It’s got to be real. It’s not just a rehearsal’

So, listen to me fellas. She’s the only one.

And what they found on the ultra sound – Ima have a son !

(Do the right thing for her and the child that she’s carried)

So, fellas, let me tell you…your boy secretly got married.”

Moondog took out his toothpick. He said, “Your son ain’t royalty.”

I replied, “He may not wear a crown, but I will show him loyalty.

I wish my dad had been there during my growing years.

Maybe he could have helped me to stop these flowing tears.”

Eightball looked shocked; his head was cocked.

He asked me, “Man, you’ve cried?!”

I nodded as I told them all, “At times I wished I’d died.

Frustration and depression – just words that mean you’re sad.

I’m just sayin’ I’ve been prayin’ that I could see my dad.

He was still young when he left us. But that is where he failed.

Mom couldn’t compete. He loved the street.

But that street life had him jailed.

The streets had him hooked every way he looked.

He was bruised and accused and finally booked.

And now he’s doing thirty years, so don’t tell me I can’t shed tears.

So I’m gonna treat my son as if he were nobility.

I’ll help his mama all I can for his upward mobility.

And if he wants to join a gym or club, I’ll tell him, ‘Sign up- ’cause the

worst thing you can do, son, is end up in a line-up’.

I’ll help him with his history, his science and his diction.

But most of all: advice, to avoid a court conviction.

The fellas left me by myself. I hope they listened well to me.

‘Cause I’m the oldest on this block…that the guards call Cell Block D.

It’s My Birthday

I don’t think it’s fair to know something that could possibly help someone else and you don’t share it.

What I learn should be shared so that we can start walking more to an enlightened state, rather that ‘base’ thinking we are all doing. I say doing because we post all these wonderful quotes and they’re just that  something someone quoted; we want to sound like we’re wise but our actions tell on us.

I’ve learned it’s not as easy to

walk the talk

but when you do

your life is better

it’s richer

and has more meaning

I learned to eat the meat

and spit out the bones

what’s for me I’ll get

and that life will come to

test you

and you have to know

what you believe in

and how you’re going

to defend that if need

be

I learned that it’s easier

to tell the truth

even though you know

some will be offended

I learned that the

initial shock is

not as bad

as it could be

if told later

I learned that friendships

take time

that we should say

who we are

in the beginning

so our energy

isn’t exasperated

over time

I learned that love is more

than words

it in all it’s forms of

authenticity

is a life force

that can’t be mined

by regret

I learned that you teach people

how to treat you

I learned to tell my truth

I learn to say

how I feel

in a way

so that you understand

Well,

those who are supposed

to will

those who don’t

won’t

I learned that when you love

someone to put your

heart out there

even when it has

been broken

but I learned that

because I learned

how to be

choosy

about who I

allow myself to

love

I learned to trust me

my feelings…..sometimes

make me hesitate

because I don’t

want to offend

but I learned that again,

you teach people how to treat you

when you give in

I learned that I can’t

love you

if I don’t love me

so when I let you

walk all over me

it’s because

I don’t love me

I learned sometimes,

that if it doesn’t mean

something big

I’ll let it slide

but when the

freebies goes unnoticed

and even unchecked

the intensity builds

up

to almost

explosions

I learned

that’s not important

for a lot

of people

but that’s okay too

just not for me

I learned that in order

to remain humble

I can’t always

look for the

praise

you have to keep doing

what got you

there

you have to learn

from it

build on it

and then give it

away…

Tell us your favorite book, but don’t tell us the name of the book until

the end of the blog post.

Billione1

When I read those words, something in me shook uncontrollably until I fell

dramatically onto the floor of my apartment in Ypsilanti, Michigan. I

remember that day. No one was there but me, but it felt as if my ancestors

were with me, and had delivered a love note to me, passed down through the

ages that said I was not unusual.

I am straight forward, demanding, and direct. However, I am also shy,

observant and compassionate. I am a great number of complex things, but

most of all, I recognize that I, just like everyone I know, have been

enacting a story that if not changed will destroy the earth.

No one told me this; I felt it from the moment I was born. Much like the

narrator of this book, I sought a teacher who could help me make sense of

that hum of culture’s mythology in my ear. I have been held captive by this

mythology and have always been looking for a way out.

From this book, I learned that I no longer have to be at war with the

earth, my community, or myself. This book was given to me as a gift from a

close friend. In fact, many of the most powerful books I’ve read were given

to me as gifts, suggesting to me they have come down from the ages and

chose me¾ but I digress.

What would you say if I told you a telepathic gorilla changed the way I saw

the world and everything with it? You would call me crazy, I’m sure.

However, I indeed learned that all things in the world are necessary and

dependent on each other and if humans continue to destroy everything we

touch, there will be no hope for any of us.

The only way I can describe my favorite book is to tell you that the

journey is an individual experience that will either anger you or liberate

you. There is no way to read it and rest in the gray area: Either you will

love it or you will hate it, but you will feel passionate either way.

I’ve read it at least 10 times and find it to be moving every time. It has

reshaped my thinking and helped me evolve hoe I approach issues in my life.

If you ever want to truly get into my head and see how I think and what

motivates me, read this book and embark on a path that changes everyone

that steps foot on it.

The author is Daniel Quinn and my favorite book is entitled Ishmael.
