Red Pill or Blue

Today, be mindful that you get to choose the red pill or the blue.

Every morning that you wake you get a choice. You get to choose if you’ll unplug from the matrix, walk into your Divine Purpose, and be guided by Divine Wisdom and Knowledge. Or, take the blue pill and remain the same. It’s more than just staying #woke it’s about allowing yourself to walk in the Full Knowledge of this world, your Purpose, and your Power.

Many of us decide to take the distractions of this world over taking the red pill every morning because it allows us to stay the same and not have to work to change, grow, and ultimately evolve. I mean, who wants to be responsible to change their life in the most impactful and effective ways and possibly change the lives of others right? Most of the people we know take the same blue pill anyway, so if I stay the same I don’t have to worry about being different. I can be relatable because we’re talking about the same things, we’re reading the same things, and we’re watching the same things and having the same mindless experiences. I don’t have to worry about carrying the weight of the world (knowledge) by myself and not have anything new to talk about or anyone to talk to. We all know that it’s more than just about being a better entrepreneur, author, producer, marketer, or person for that matter. It’s about taking the responsibility of ‘self’ to a whole other dimension and dedicating your life to achieving the highest level of ‘self’ that you can achieve. The greatest part of this is intentionally letting go (unplugging) from the distractions that keep us ‘sleep’. Distractions like racism, sexism, judgment, separatism, and the mindlessness activities that keep us in a perpetual loop of ‘being stuck’. We have a responsibility to ourselves and to others to evolve to our ‘higher’ selves and be greater so that the world can ultimately be greater but when we continuously choose the blue pill we make that harder each and every day.

Today, which pill will you choose? The red or the blue.

where there is LIGHT

where there is LIGHT

there is LOVE

there is warmth

a safe space

a time of healing

comes from light

energy focused on

shedding the old

to get to the new

we get distracted

just as we’re about to

see a bit of light

keep going

into the light

Evolve Stretch Grow

to get to the next Dimension

the funny part is

we’ve all got to go

or we’re not going to

make it

alone

Don’t be distracted by what

you’re uncomfortable with

fearful of

there’s no such thing

that can overtake you

open up to the light

let it in

illuminate your heart

show through

your skin

resonate in your being

and allow

others the same

walk in light

in peace

where there is LIGHT

there is LOVE

Empire ~ Lucious Lyon

Lucious Lyon

I think that although Lucious truly hates that his son Jamal is gay, he does love him in his own way. Lucious is ashamed of Jamal and he thinks he’s being hard on him for a reason. I believe that he’s been trying to toughen him up from the first time he saw him in those heels and he put Jamal in the trash. His battle with Jamal last Wednesday on Empire showed it. He was battling Jamal, not really over a song but because he knows how tough the world is going to be on his son and being good or talented is not enough. Lucious is trying to make him tougher. Who better than your father to be the toughest on you so that when you’re out in the world you’ll be able to say “That’s all you got!”

(this is beautiful…watch below)

Now, I’m not advocating or agreeing that Lucious is right for the treatment of his gay son but I’ve learned to not judge people’s parenting skills since most of the time I’m a bit sketchy about my own. All I’m saying is that’s what I believe he’s doing. I’ve seen someone say that they refuse to watch Empire and called it Ratchet. They stated it so because they were Christian  and I was kind of offended being someone who prides themselves on reading the word and to be honest, the Bible has the most ratchet stories in it if I might add: but most of us still read the Bible because we know that in the end someone gets delivered. Now, I’m not saying that on Empire someone’s going to be delivered but I do see where weekly the characters on the show are evolving. What they are evolving into is different altogether but I think this show works because Lee Daniels has found a dialogue of relatability within the black community. No, I’m not saying that Empire is every person in the black community’s story but surely if I can watch this story unfold I might be able to understand some people in the community.  We tend to denigrate things before we’ve had a chance to see the morality in mortals. We don’t really believe that God can change people helping them to extend themselves, grow, and evolve. There can be no light without darkness and sometimes it’s almost as if we are afraid to look at the dark. How will we ever be able to understand the magnitude of the light if we’re too afraid to look at the dark.

I think it’s time to tell our own stories. We need new ones anyway.
