>Respect

>I’ve heard them say that respect is earned
But I’ve come to believe that respect is learned
Respect should be taught while yet in the womb
For without respect we simply are doomed
With respect comes the submission to giving honor
It’s like an invisible shield that protects us like armor
When we do not learn respect from inside the womb
Our fate can be sealed as we design our own tomb
Ultimately as we grow older we have the ability to learn respect
We can learn to be taught from another aspect
When we choose to disrespect others we disrespect ourselves
We petition the reflection of negativity to hold us in cells
When we do not uphold another’s life in high regard
We hinder our own growth and progression becomes hard
When you learn to respect you, you begin to respect others
Because you’ve learned we’re all connected like Sisters and Brothers
