And when the time comes we simply refused
How many of us said “I’ll do all that you ask”
But when the fear came you turned and ran away fast
How many of us when the time to step up came
Were afraid the word different would be synonymous with your name
How many of us say we don’t care what others say or do
But when you’re the minority you realize that isn’t true
How many of us are really ready to fulfil all that we are asked
Even when the job leaves you friendless because of your tasks
How many of us are willing to forge straight ahead
Even when the Spirit ask you to rise up out of your bed
How many of us say that we want to be led by the Spirit
But when your name is called you act like you didn’t even hear it
How many of us say that we are ready for a transformation
And realize that we might be called to serve an entire generation
How many of us are ready to be called into submission
Knowing someone will go against you and they won’t ask your permission
How many of us think that we should be found without blemish or fault
And when the time comes to speak you feel like you shouldn’t even talk
See many are called, but the true laborers are few
