>Running

>Where do you run to when you run
Do you run to some place fun
Where do you go when it gets to be too much
Is it with so and so, to do such and such
Or is it to those that you say you aren’t much like
But from them you can’t seem to take flight
When you run don’t you know you must eventually come back
And running somehow can never change that fact
Running to get relief from the present
No expressions of words that seem pleasant
Running so far just trying to get away
Thinking that you can outrun this day
Where do you run to when you run
There is no place you can hide under the sun
You can run as far and as long as you may
But before it’s all over you’ll have to go back to that day
Running is not easy, nor is it fun
Looking over your shoulder from the things you’ve done
Running here & there and then to & fro
Trying not to leave bits of you wherever you go
Running so fast, I’m sure you have left something you love
Instead of praying on how to deal with it from the man up above
But you’d rather run than learn how to deal
But later in life there will be a hard swallow from that pill
Life is surely something that you can’t outrun
No matter how much you feel like you’re under the gun
Be strong, stand still, and take it as it comes
Life is never good living it on the run
