>The Hands

>In the dark there are hands on her skin
And every night the hands would come again and again
As she lay paralyzed in her own mind
She wondered what the hands wanted this time
She could see the shadow that knelt beside her bed
She silently screamed over & over inside of her head
Every night she would lie paralyzed in her own skin
As she tried to go to that place inside her head once again
Once on this shadowy, dark particular night
She decided that this time she was going to fight
As she waited the hands never did come
She wanted to be excited but her body was numb
After some time the hands once again did arrive
Just when she started to come back and feel alive
But to her alarm this time the hands weren’t the source
Her small twelve year old body was not overtaken by force
See her mind was in shock as she lay paralyzed
And the hands couldn’t enter her body because of her size
And as everyone lie asleep in the very same house
The hands needed her to keep quieter than any Church mouse
As the years went on and the abuse finally did stop
She never thought of herself as the cream of the crop
But she gave herself over to the most unimaginable of things
She did not care what it was she just wanted to feel anything
One day out of the blue the Creator did come
And told her that this type of life she didn’t have to succumb
He told her she was destined to be more than what she dreamt
And that though she wasn’t perfect she still was not exempt
She went on to be a blessing to many others
Sharing the stories of old even speaking about all her many lovers
And giving the Creator credit for all that he has done
For without him she knows that her life would not have been won
