>Casualties

>In our midst stand magnified casualties from one form of battle or war
Held by oppressive binding actions and words creating the inability to soar
Casualties of normal dysfunctionalities from those we share the same cells
Habitual captives afflicted in the vacancy that one dwells
Hostage to the plague of crabs in the barrel mentality
Depraved of uplifting words to recite making nothing your reality
Confined to depressive rhetoric that there’s nothing better to pursue
Falling prey to adversaries who do not advocate for your value
Contributions paid to the conspiracy theory of mediocracy
Generational curse to the spiritual slave democracy
Wings being clipped during infancy disabling one to fly
Beaten down early in life teaching the bird not to try
In our midst stand magnified casualties from one form of battle or war
Who will be the Spiritual Martyrs to unlock the prisons and open the doors

  1. Surrounding us are those who have been casualties of what feels like mental or physical battles or wars. Some are still held captive mentally by those issues and aren't able to move forward. Most of those issues stem from familial dysfunctions; drugs, molestation, rape, or beaten down mentally or physically. At a young age, for some their wings were clipped and they're unable to try because they feel they were beaten down by life and by others who told them that they wouldn't amount to anything. Question: Who will be strong enough after undergoing severe or constant suffering will be able to unlock themselves from that prison?
