>Things Are Not Always What They Seem

>Messages, convoluted and distorted
It’s not always true what they’ve reported
Take the time to know for yourself
Remove your mind from on top of the shelf
Information wildly running rampant
Lest you believe it was Jed Clampett
They twist and turn that which is truth
They’ll have you believe Superman still changes in a phone booth
Communication transmitted by satellite
Stories being told before we can get it right
Much of it ain’t our business anyway
But that’s how they get us to stay
Watching everyone on some type of screen
Getting us to answer polls about someone else’s self esteem
Who are we to criticize
What right do we have to examine other people’s lives
I don’t think that’s why we were put here on this earth
To determine someone else’s worth
As soon as someone does something we have an opinion
Like their lives we have dominion
Don’t be so quick to judge
Or to someone whose done you no wrong hold a grudge
The challenge now is to examine your own life
Check to see if you’re doing things right
Don’t blame others for the way things seem
Or because you’ve not followed your dreams
Society has taught us it’s not our fault
It’s like stupid was on sale and that’s what we all bought
Took our minds off of our own selves
So our own problems we wouldn’t dwell
Misinformation to the relevant facts
Allowed us superiority and put us on the attack
Now we’re judging everyone in our path
Wonder what they’ll put on our epitaph
