>What Am I Worth

>Why would I allow anyone to determine my worth
Who can tell me the number of tears I’ve cried since birth
How many have tried to restrain that which I am
Holding me hostage saying they sacrifice me for the Lamb
Conservative minds that take my breath while I yet breathe
They squeeze my lungs doing that which no one could conceive
How dare you place my spirit inside of a box
While telling me my mind is certain of detox
What right have you to judge then criticize
When you are not that which you epitomize
Who gave the permission for you to hold me in contempt
Why did they allow your worth to be exempt
How could you understand that from which I came
Don’t you know that we make fervent requests to one and the same
He loves me no more than he loves you
How could that message be misconstrued
What makes you believe that you hold the answer
How ignorant is it to say that’s why I have Cancer
Like, by my actions he would pour upon my flesh disease
Is that really what you believe
How can you hate someone who you’re supposed to love
Was that really the instructions that came from up above
What right do you have to stand in proxy for me
Who said it was alright for you to tell me how my life should be
Even the Most High gave man free will
Who exalted you higher than he or did you foot the bill
Oh, it was you who climbed upon that cross
And it was you who saved everyone that was lost
Maybe your robe and gavel you should retire
And not overlook your own soul to keep it from the flames and the fire
