>And The Truth Shall Set You Free

>One word can change the tone for the rest of the night
Truth spoken withholds freedom and invokes a silent fight
No matter the delivery honesty has been redeemed
You can feel it’s effects louder than any scream
The Elders say that truth will set you free
But one wonders why the opposite is the requested decree
No one should have to falsify evidence to enjoy a peaceful night
Or beat around the bush to avoid a fight
Truth and Honesty should be everyone’s philosophy
But why does it feel like suicidal hypocrisy
The truth has seemed to lost value and is over-rated
And the quest to make other’s feel good has been over-stated
Truth spoken to another out of respect and love
It should not make one want to put on Everlast gloves
Modestly spoken the truth is what everyone should want
It’s not meant to torment your mind or your soul it shouldn’t haunt
Sit down take a moment to process what really is
Know that truth doesn’t take away from yours, hers, or even his
The truth gives everyone leveled ground
And it shouldn’t be to your ears what deaf is to sound
