>Second Chances

>Sometimes we don’t realize the second chances in life that we are given
What will you do with another opportunity to make amends while you are living
Maybe it’s that GrandMother who might not have been the best Mother
But with her Grandchildren she makes up for it and with comfort and love she tends to smother
Knowing that she can’t go back in time to undo the circumstances of imperfection
But with the little ones she now has the impeccable gift of protection
What about the person who was loved so tender and did not treat another right
And with every part of their soul the incomparable love they were shown they did fight
Understanding now that the affection of love given they appropriately deserve
Acknowledging also that somewhere in their life negativity was all that they ever heard
Now with time and growth they are ready for the love that was previously bestowed upon their being
They will make every effort to return that love to the new person that they are now seeing
What about the woman who gave up her precious jewels to many when she was yet but a child
Having matured over the years and realized she was seeking love all the while
Now she treats her temple like it is the highest of royalty
And is sure to know within her heart she has another’s overwhelming loyalty
What about the dude who treated women like they were pawns in his personal game
To finding the love of his life and treating her like a Queen realizing how his previous antics were lame
What about the Mother or Father who lived a life of souless drug infestation
Not being able to take care of the seeds sown and any other obligation
To years later being able to fight the spirit of addiction and joyously overcome
And now their life is a living testimony to all having the ability to tell how God fought for them and won
What about the young man who in life thought it was his mission to become an infamous thug
And when you reminded him that’s not where he came from all he gave was a shoulder shrug
Spending many years in jail God gave him enough time to sit and ponder
And now he counsels other young men and women and became God’s miraculous wonder
I could go on and on about all the second chances that we all have been given
But are you thanking God for it and amending the opportunities while you are living?
