>Why Didn’t You Speak

>Have you ever walked passed someone and when you spoke they didn’t speak back
And you got on your high horse thinking that it was some sort of an attack
Could you ever imagine what that person might be going through in their mind
But for some reason you let that very moment take away your shine
What if they were so deep in thinking about what they’re going through
That when you passed by, how about they didn’t even see you
Why do we always assume that someone else is trying to be funny
As if when they didn’t speak you acted like they had stole your money
Why is it that we never give others the benefit of the doubt
But instead we get upset and want to take the negative route
Especially when we know that we haven’t wronged them in any way or fashion
Why don’t we assume either they didn’t hear us and show some compassion
Who are we to think that everyone should be for and about us
What if the other day that person’s loved one had gotten hit by a bus
Or what if they just lost their home or are in some type of financial situation
Or when they woke up that morning they had been in some type of altercation
Instead of getting mad because they walked passed and didn’t say a word
Why don’t you ask them to see if they had heard
Then you’ll know the answer before any negative feelings could get in the way
And you don’t have to be angry and confused for the rest of the day
