>Mama Do You Love Me

>As a child I could remember having many things
All kinds of Jewelry gold chains & gold rings
The latest designer clothes Gloria Vanderbilt Calvin Klein
Mama gave me everything so I never had a chance to whine
My very own room, two to choose from year after year
but one thing I can’t remember is Mama giving me her ear
Every Christmas she’d ask “What do you want”?
She didn’t just ask me so she could taunt
Every year I’d tell her and that’s what she bought
I never even opened my mouth to tell her that its love that I sought
My birthday would come, I’d have big parties and such
But I ‘d give anything just to have my Mother’s touch
I went on every cheerleading trip no matter the cost
We’d win big trophies & hardly ever lost
Extra money for souvenirs whatever I wanted to buy
I’d wish she was there and that is no lie
She only came once a year on “Parent’s Night”
She did what she wanted I guess that was her right
Now that I’m older and my Mothers not able to be there
We’ve lost our chance for Mother-Daughter love to share
Mama do you love me? I’d think she’d say yes
She gave me everything and that was her best
Honestly, I would’ve enjoyed a hug or a kiss
For those physical affections I did miss.
