>Power For Sale

>I gave up my power
I sold it like it was goods on the market
I gave it up willingly & freely
It was cheap
“Power For Sale”
“My” power that is
I gave “me” up
I offered it to the first person who would take it
“Good” you want my power
I told them that I would wait for them to call
And when they didn’t
I was hurt
I told them it was okay to treat me bad
Then I was hurt some more
I told them it was okay to put others in front of me
And later had the nerve to still be hurt
“I” gave up my power
Sold it as if it were on the Auction block
And next we have, “Power”
Sold to the bidder in Black, Zero Dollars!
I gave up pieces of me
little pieces of my power
It’s okay, you can have it
I said it was okay to take everything I was offering
And felt bad when they offered nothing in return
My power was gone
lost on a useless cause
I gave up “Self”
I gave up “My worth”, my “Self-worth”
I want it back
Yes, I’m an Indian Giver
Give me back my power
As a matter of fact
I’m taking it!
