Some of us say we want better but we’re too afraid to move

Too afraid of our choices too afraid we might lose

When we stay put we have ourselves to blame

Because we’re afraid to go where others don’t know our name

So we stand still in a place where we say we don’t like

A place where we continually struggle and have to fight

Fighting for a place where we should not ultimately be

Too afraid to get up too afraid too leave

Too afraid we might miss something that we shouldn’t even see

Too afraid of a better place where our blessings might be

Too afraid of something that we haven’t physically seen

Too afraid of ourselves so we don’t come clean

Too afraid that a better life is not what we deserve

So we stay put thinking that our lives we’ll preserve

Too afraid to leave family because that’s all we know

So we stay put until our regrets begin to show

Blaming others for the reasons that we cannot leave

Knowing on the inside that’s not what we believe

Too afraid that we might jump out of the pan into the fire

So we settle for where we are until the day that we retire

Too afraid of a challenge too afraid of taking risks

Too afraid of possibilities so we stay in the abyss

When we act as if we’re afraid to live our best life

We are saying to God that his plan wasn’t right

Fantasizing about what could’ve been doesn’t earn you any points

You should get up and go so your life God can annoint
